North Sea Jazz Festival: Articles & Photos
The North Sea Jazz Festival is widely acknowledged as the “biggest indoor jazz festival in the world” and has a strong reputation for showcasing many musical styles. It presents jazz and jazz related music from traditional New Orleans jazz, swing, bop, free jazz, fusion, avant-garde jazz, blues, gospel, funk, soul, R&B, world beat and Latin.
This annual jazz festival is held in The Netherlands every July over the second weekend. The first event took place in 1976 at the Nederland Congresgebow in The Hague, since 2006 the festival has been held at Ahoy in Rotterdam. In 2009, during a single weekend, 180 performances were given by about 1500 artists on 15 stages attracting 70,000 visitors.
Reiji has been attending this event every year since 1999 as press journalist, writing articles and producing photographs covering all aspects of the event for Japanese media/record labels.
